So stock markets from around the world are in a buoyant mood with many seeing dramatic increases over the last ten weeks but how long will this current bull market last?
Now I am by no means a financial adviser however I do like to have the odd dabble on the stock market.
I am now thirty-five and have been investing in stocks and shares since the age of twenty-one. Just like the average stock market there have many ups and downs but fortunately I have not done too bad thus far.
Despite the recent upward surge in many of the major stock markets I personally believe that this is merely a starting point. Yes, there will of course be peaks and troughs along the way as some people take whatever short term profits they have made but over the longer term, which is where the majority of people will be investing, I believe that there is a lot more growth to be seen.
I particularly like the emerging markets sector as this, in my humble opinion, has been oversold during the current credit crisis. Japan, Latin America, China and India are the main areas that I am investing, or gambling as some would call it, my hard earned cash.
I am however hedging my best just in case I have got it wrong and the stock markets start to fall in a major way. That is because I do not invest lump sum amounts, I instead invest a monthly amount therefore spreading the risk in what we call in England "pound cost averaging".
