How important would you say that communication is in the workplace? What about where you work; are the bosses or managers effective communicators? Now I am not entirely sure as to how you will have answered these questions however I can hazard a guess if I take my personal experiences as a benchmark. In this article I will be writing about the importance of effective communication in the workplace, I hope you enjoy the read.
It is now February and there still has not been even the hint of a review; in fact there has been no mention of one. Is this good communication or bad communication on the part of the boss?
It is very bad communication and it can lead to a lowering of moral, which can lead to a lowering of productivity, which can lead to lower profits. It's not rocket science; some would say it's the basics of business. So why do so many bosses screw it up? Is it a lack of respect or a lack of caring for their staff or are they just too busy? Who knows?
Whatever the reason, the reason is not good enough. If the annual review is postponed for a period of time then all that the boss should do is to communicate this fact with their staff. How long would it take? Yes, literally a couple of minutes.
