I am often amazed when I hear people say that they do not plan to have children. It is fair to say that until you become a parent you can not fully undertsand just how great it feels but to choose to not have kids leaves me feeling some what bemused. I am the very proud father of a six year old boy and in this article I will be writing about the reasons why I love being a parent.
I then started to enjoy being single, there was now nobody to nag at me and I could do whatever I wanted to, life felt great.
I then met a woman and eight months later she became pregnant. My son was born around two weeks before the due date and suddenly my life changed forever. It is quite hard to explain but it was as if I had become whole and complete.
I now started to live for my new family. I put maximum effort into getting my career going and enjoyed every minute watching as my son grew from being a baby into a young boy.
My son loves to play sport and is now in a football team. He is a defender and I always laugh as he clatters into the opposing striker to win back the ball. Like his father, he has a love of curry and once a week I will take him to our local Indian restuarant.
He is doing very well at school and excells with his reading, spellings and maths. He has a very cute smile and is normally very happy. I love it in the morning when he comes into my bedroom and says, good morning, with a confident and cheery voice.
My life is now complete, I am so happy and proud of my son and at being a parent.
