Lets face it the world is becoming a tougher place to live. People can be quick to criticise and success is now the be all and end all. What about the average person in the street who is not able to excel in their career or in some type of sport? Are we really the failure that people seem to think we are? From time to time we all require a free shot of confidence or a free shot of self esteem to give us a boost, in this article I am going to attempt to do just that.

I am a very successful person, but in what way do I measure this success? Is it by the amount of money I have in my bank account, by the car that I drive, by the house that I live in or by the amount of friends I have? No is the answer to these questions, it is in fact by how happy I am. I have at last reached a point in my life where I can honestly say that I am very happy. The next question therefore has to be, how was I able to reach and achieve this level of happiness?

I am a person who used to feel quite sorry for himself. I had a stutter, a bald patch on my head, I am quite short for a male and I have always been, well at least since my teenage years, rather obese.

These aspects did affect my life and people did laugh and abuse me. Aged twenty-two I decided to fight back. I wanted to achieve a weight I was happy and comfortable with, I was desperate to rid my speech of the frustrating stutter and I was determined to become far more care-free in my attitude to life.

After a long time and a lot of hard work I was able to achieve my goals. I am now able to think in a positive attitude and no longer care what people think of me. Life has never been so good.
